PepsiCo is evaluating different natural color ingredients and technologies to replace Yellow #5, Yellow #6, Red #40, and Blue #1 for multiple food and beverage brands in order to address consumer demand. Specific challenges are in the Red #40 (food) and Blue #1 (food & beverage) replacers.

This new analogues can be used to develop new drugs with antitumor action or with action on other diseases by acting on the VDR receptor with low or negligible toxic calcemic side effects. DARWIN-PCM is a disruptive dynamic thermal system that allows building envelopes to modify their thermal properties. The invention DARWIN-PCM consists of a dynamic thermal system to be used in buildings to minimize their energy consumption for space heating and cooling. The invention can be implemented in any sort of building envelope including walls, floors, roofs, fenestrations, and doors. It is composed of several layers of materials, one of them is mobile and contains a material with capacity to absorb and release high amount of heat - such as phase- change materials (PCM).
